Grew up, went to school, worked, fell in love and currently live, in Queens, New York. My family, which is of Greek origin, taught me that history and lineage are important things to know and remember. Had an interesting childhood — born in Queens, raised in Greece and NY by my mom and two grandmothers. Traveled more in my first 12 years than most do in a lifetime. During that time was introduced to many hobbies — collecting things like stamps, coins, baseball cards, comic books, pens, watches, cufflinks, and antiques (many kinds).
Have a Fever for collecting many different rare and unique objects. Each of these pieces has a story, and I want to try to bring it to you. This blog is meant to share this love of collections and the history they represent (both mine and theirs).

The Story Behind “TheBoxBoss”
My two additional online stores are on eBay and Etsy, under the name “TheBoxBoss.” While taking a getaway trip for a couple days, my family explored a number of antique shops that were on my bucket list in upstate New York. In one of those shops I found an old writing lap desk in desperate need of restoration. It was in awesome condition on the outside (great patina — just needed new Baize on bottom and new key made for original lock), but on the inside it needed a new leather slope. My wife was patient for a while as I continued to inspect box; she browsed while I was considering purchasing it. A period of time passed (I say 5 minutes, she says 30 minutes), and my wife asked “Are you buying that Box or what?” For those of you who are not married — that means she wants to leave! After haggling with owner of shop for a minute, I bought the box for $65. It all began with a Box… my son (who was much younger at the time) said “Add ‘Boss’ to your store name” — and “TheBoxBoss” was born!
